We knew today was going to be a long one. We had to cover 575 miles before dinner time on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend. Needless to say, we had a late dinner.
Both Tracy and I had been deeply involved in our respective jobs for the last year, our daughter Rachel graduated college and jetted off to Europe for a month or 2, our son Joshua moved out into his own apartment, so we both had a bit of stress and things to do on our plates. She had become “The Terminator” and I had become “Alien”.
When we got into the truck and started to drive, I said, “I have something really important to tell you.” I continued once she put down her phone to listen to me. “Our love is like a ship on the ocean. We’ve been sailing with a cargo full of love and devotion.”
At that moment, “The Terminator” was crushed in a hydraulic press, and “Alien” was sucked out the window. It’s vacation time baby.
