We left Jacksonville bright and early after a nice breakfast.
We’ve decided 95 is one of the most boring drives we’ve ever been on, and people drive like maniacs. We did have a bright spot when Jon spotted a Land Cruiser with a roof top tent – obviously one of the tribe. We did a lot of waving back and forth but Jon hasn’t figured out if he knows the guy or not. I have faith in my husband.
We stopped at a rest area for our 20th pee break of the day and decided to have a picnic for lunch. As soon as I finished making sandwiches on the tailgate, of course it started pouring rain. But we made a mad dash for one of those little pavilions and it ended up being quite nice. Especially because we got to stare at a couple of blue herons and a bunch of egrets:

We spent a nice afternoon with my Mom and Marilyn. The weather is supposed to be pretty rainy so we’ll see what tomorrow brings – we were hoping to tour this cool Japanese garden a little north from here, and I’ve got my fingers crossed.
The last few days were definitely the worst part of the trip, it should get much more interesting from here.
