We had fun today. We walked what felt like a thousand miles (ok, not really) around the older part of Charleston. The architecture was really beautiful. We spent a lot of time speculating about what it would be like to live in a house built originally in the 1600s… a lot of maintenance I would guess. But all the houses were so beautiful… pictures don’t really do it.

We decided to take the ‘Dungeon Tour’ because we figured it would be goofy, which is definitely our thing. Boy, were we wrong. It turns out the Old Exchange House has been all sorts of things since it was built, including where South Carolina signed the Constitution. The British occupied it during the Revolutionary War for a bit, and they kept prisoners in pretty horrific conditions. We had a great tour guide of the dungeons who gave us all sorts of history lessons.
After lunch we decided to visit the South Carolina Aquarium, because I’m a complete sucker for this stuff. It was small, but had some good things to look at. The otters were so cute!

The bald eagle was something of a surprise – she’s a rescue with an injured wing so she can’t fly. I don’t think I’ve ever been that close to a bald eagle before. She was very haughty looking:

We had a lovely dinner at a local restaurant. Jon was more than a little startled to see this in the men’s room:

I don’t exactly know what to say about that.
Lots of fun today for sure.
