Hi everyone,
As most of you know – pretty much because it’s all I’ve talked about for the last month – Jon and I are about to embark on a crazy 6800 mile road trip across the US and Canada. Jon actually left yesterday, as he is going to Moab, Utah first for a Land Cruiser off-roading event for a few days. I take off next Saturday, meeting Jon in Salt Lake City.
From there, we are off to Mount Rainier, Seattle, Vancouver, Jasper National Park, Banff National Park, then across the Trans-Canada highway to Ottawa, and finally home.
Along the way we are planning to play tourist, do a bunch of hiking and basically wander to whatever seems strange and interesting. Personally, I’m hoping to see a cow made of butter (because really, why would you do that? It’s such a bizarrely fascinating thing to do) but I’m guessing I probably won’t get to have that experience – think we’d have to go to like Wisconsin or something for that.
Anyway, I’ve convinced Jon that it would be a good idea to create a blog to record all our adventures. Mostly because this is probably not a trip we’ll ever take again, and I wanted to remember how it really felt at the time. But also because so many of you expressed an interest in what we are doing and following along.
