So many miles, so many wonderful sights, so many laughs. I couldn’t imagine doing this sort of excursion with anyone else. My wife is the single best partner and co-pilot anyone could ever ask for. She drove for hours on end while I rested, she is an ace navigator, and she can Google the crap out the most interesting and useless information.
Our spirits never dulled, despite some pretty bad weather, we didn’t get on each other’s nerves (not too much anyway), and we never stopped laughing at both the absurd and ourselves. She is my true soul mate and just an all-around superior human and I love her dearly.
As we pulled into our driveway, the GPS displayed 7601 miles traveled since I left Jersey on April 28th. We’ll just round that down to an even 7600. Our 20 year old Land Cruiser never faltered, not even for a second. She drank 1.5 quarts of oil, ¼ quart of power steering fluid, and some fuel here and there.
I can’t begin to express how much I’m pleased with the truck’s performance. Pulling a trailer over the Rocky Mountains as I was on my way to do some of the toughest trails in the US in Moab, and then continue on for another 5K+ miles undaunted. All the time riding in comfort, safety, and style. It truly is an exceptional vehicle that turns heads wherever it goes. We cruised the land in our Land Cruiser. Yes, I said it.
