Some closing thoughts

We really had an awesome time.  Yes, there were definitely some boring bits, but we saw so many weird and wonderful things we could never have seen any other way.  I don’t know that I’d do it again, but it was a fabulous two weeks.  The biggest down side was not having enough time in all the places we went.  If we could have take another week or two, that would have been even better as I feel like we missed so much.

Canada is a really lovely country.  It’s so big, even after all of that, we didn’t see a tenth of it.  And Canadians really are nice people – although for some puzzling reason, everyone in the western part of the country is Australian.

I did learn that Canadians are obsessed with all things RV and golf.  Seriously, every tiny little town we drove through had a golf course.  It’s possible there are more golf courses than people – and I’m positive there are more RV’s than humans.  There are campgrounds and trailer parks literally everywhere.

Neither of us can figure out how people survive in some of the places we drove through.  I mean, it’s impossible to tell how they make even a tiny living – what the heck do they do for money?  Speaking of which, if your “house” looks like it could have been the set for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, you probably don’t need to worry about posting that ‘Keep Out’ sign.  Believe me, I don’t want to meet you either.

I really enjoyed writing this blog, and I hope you enjoyed reading it.  It definitely enhanced the trip for me, and thinking about what I wanted to write helped on some of the boring parts.  I may have to find a way to do more of this.

And yes, Jon and I are still married, and we still love each other.  We are still making each other laugh even now that we are home.
